April 17 - Sustain:ABILITY Architecture Lecture, Architect Rick Cook, Cook + Fox Architects, New York
Sustainable Design in New York: The Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park and Cook + Fox Offices
Union Depot, Tulsa
Co-sponsored by AIA Eastern Oklahoma
Rick Cook, an architect in the forefront of green design, will discuss what is perhaps the most ambitious green architectural project to date in the United States. When completed in 2008, the Bank of America Tower will be the most environmentally responsible high-rise office building in the US, and the first to achieve the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Platinum designation.
Cook will also discuss his firm’s offices in New York. Platinum LEED certified with a 3,600 square foot green roof, it has been called the “greenest” office in New York City. The environmental consciousness that permeates the Cook + Fox culture goes far beyond what they design; it literally permeates how they operate their business.
Reception with Rick Cook to follow the lecture.
Time: 6:30pm Cost: $8 PTAC members, $10 non-members. Call 918.336.4949 to reserve your ticket.
