This looks pretty cool.  Always good to see private enterprise taking advantage of this kind of need.

The Brook Restaurant on Brookside A new trolley service will carry party-goers safely between Tulsa's entertainment districts.

Anheuser-Busch and T-Town Trolley will offer free rides between Brookside, Cherry Street and downtown's Blue Dome district beginning next week.

The trolley will run every Friday and Saturday and is free for everyone.

The Brookside Business Association says there will be two stops in Brookside between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The service starts Friday, March 14.

Ha!  I called for this ages ago, glad to see it coming together.  That will be HUGE for Brookside when the BOk center is up and running.  Pull a trolley up and offer to take people to Brookside and back or the other way around (eat at Brookside, get a ride to your event, and a ride back to enjoy a drink).

I took it to be "stops at two places" not comes twice.  If it came twice in 5 hours it is not of much value and tons of people will get stranded.   It would just seem odd, what does the driven to in the interim - sit somewhere for an hour... drive from Brookside to Cherry street... sit for an hour...

sgrizzle

I would rather pay a dollar or two for continuous than have it run twice for free.

inteller

i thought this was just for St patrick's day weekend.

hoodlum

that is surely what it means

2 stops in brookside not 2 stops total

momentary lapse of intelligence on my part

I didn't click the link, is this Blake Lund's trolley?

I thought he sold his

sgrizzle

It was his as of late last year, but this may be a new owner as the old website and myspace run by blake has been pulled.

I think there was some huge expense for a motor he wasn't able to justify.

Free trolley system arrives in Tulsa

On March 14, Tulsa will join Oklahoma City and Edmond as the state's third city to operate a trolley system. The trolley will be free to ride – unlike the other two systems – however, each passenger will need to redeem a token from one of the bars or restaurants along the trolley route.

The free trolley will run from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. The T-Town Trolley currently has seven stops throughout downtown and Brookside, one stop every half hour. It will hit Sharkies, the Empire Bar, the junction of 3rd & Elgin, McNellie's, 18th & Boston, Jewel and the Crow Creek Tavern. Additional stops on the route are planned for the future.

"Tulsa's Young Professionals pledges its full support to this initiative," TYPros Chairman Shane Fernandez said. "The addition of a trolley system will give people a new reason to visit our venues as well as advance Tulsa's development into an urban city filled with vitality and energy. It will help us showcase Tulsa as a cool place to live, work and play."

Please help TYPros show its support for this new privately funded project and attend the official T-Town Trolley press conference at McNellie's, featuring Mayor Kathy Taylor and John Bolton, the General Manager of the BOK Center. Stay for a trolley tour and refreshments.

You also won't want to miss the official launch party for the trolley system at McNellie's on Friday. Be one of the first to hitch a free ride to some of Tulsa's hottest night spots.

Not a very clear press release.  "One stop every half hour."  Presumably this means you'll never have to wait longer than 1/2 hour for a ride from any stop... (I hope!)

Great concept.  In the future, I hope they will run longer...starting at happy hour and running until close. (Maybe the Tulsa Geezer Professionals could sponsor the earlier time frame!)
