part of the reason the country is going down the toilet is the lax enforcement of uniform and appearance standards.  I think target contributes to this more than wal-mart.  at least wal-mart makes its cashiers wear a smock.

i have more issues with those who judge based upon apperance then with those who chose to have a piercing in their eyebrow or dye their hair pink. so called punk slobs

hoodlum

i think Target does more for the overall apperance and aesthetic of our country by introducing well conceived beautifuly design products for everyday use. I would rather have that any day over a smock.

oh yes, you are definitely him.  So when was the last time you washed that T-shirt?  and I don't quite think that hoodie was "Target Red"  you need to find a better one at the Salvation Army Store down the street.

Real MEN dont care if there are dirty diapers on the floor,or the employees are pink, purple, black or green,as long as the store has that shiny new 9/16 socket im in need of!

the target at 21st and yale is like any other in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas or California.

but then again if you determine where you shop based on the clothing, hair and personal styles of those who work there then your not basing your choice on the store you are basing your chocie on your own bigotry.

Like that is some kind of attractive uniform?

I can deal with the tattoos and such on employees much more easily than the meth teeth that seem to be so common at Wal-Mart.

Funny story. I was with the family grocery shopping this weekend at Super Target. When we were paying the lady checking us out (who was very nice btw) had a gentleman, who certainly was afflicted with meth teeth, walk up to her with his elderly mother (I assume mother, could have been new sugar momma, I didn't ask)who looked just like a Wal-Mart greeter. Anyway, he walks up and asks "so uh, just wondering, do ya still got that restraining order out on me?" The older woman is glaring at the checker who is obviously mortified. My wife just freezes, I'm trying to move my kids in the other direction away from this looming train wreak. The checker calmly says "yes" and starts to scan our items again. The man just says "ah, alright, just wondered" and he and his "mom" walk off. The checker then just acts like nothing happened. My kids never even noticed anything had happened. It was very surreal.

And how does one get notified that a restraining order is lifted and do they ever get lifted? Do they have expiration dates?

Not particularly relevant, but here is the text of an e-mail that's going around pertaining to the size of Wal-Mart:

HOW BIG IS WAL-MART?

I was blown away by these mind-boggling statistics on Wal-Mart!
Pretty big numbers.......apparently doesn't include foreign Wal-Marts.

1. At Wal-Mart, Americans spend $36,000,000 every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private employer.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 Supermarket chains sought bankruptcy (including Winn-Dixie).

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are SuperCenters; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 years ago.

11. This year, 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at a Wal-Mart store.
(Earth's population is approximately 6.5 billion).

12. 90% of Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart

Sorry not I. I will shop Wal-Mart. I want the most for my money. Target is too expensive.

Heh, I went to debunk some of those facts but they are true (or close enough).  I did not take the effort to verify sales of all the competitors nor map out population compared to wal-mart - but they are probably dang close:
(walmart map: http://proximityone.com/images2/mrslw.png)

One thing, they are only the largest company by total revenue.  They are far from the most profitable or the highest valued.  For market cap they are 7th (Exxon, GE, MS, ATT, Berkshire Hathaway, and P&G) for profitability they are 12th.

The most profitable list is kind of funny now, most profitable as of 2007:
1) Exxon (oil, duh)
2) UAL (just out of bankruptcy, poor unprofitable airlines need wage concessions and fuel surpluses)
3) Citigroup (high risk, high reward huh suckers?  Now wait for government bailouts ya' bastards)
4) bank of America (see above)
5) Pfizer (thanks for the prescription drug package GW!)
6) ConocoPhilips (yes, there is THAT kind of money in Bville)
7) JP Morgan Chase (poor financial companies)
8) AIG (but we lost tons of money from Katrina)
9) Microsoft (our products now suck but what else are you going to do!)
10) Altria (sin is still king, 22% profit margin)
11) Walmart (3% profit margin)
12) johnson and johnson
13) Berkshire Hathaway (poor investment firms)
14) Goldman Sachs (Wall Street firms need government bailouts!)
15) IBM
16) P & G
17) Well's Fargo (all those poor sub mortgages they are taking hits on)

Bah!  Anyway, note the number of investment firms and mortgage holders on that list.  They were making money hand over fist last year with ultra high risk investments and notes - now they act like they had no idea they were so risky.

I wouldnt pity him,he is a BOY..who has nothing good to say ever about anyone,or anything,he lives to post here giving smartass answers, and force his warped logic on everyone.I sometimes wonder what a much better site this would be without him.But when someone says anything, his cubicle worker buddys all run to his defense.
Im assuming he grew up in chicago or New York, this would explain his attitude, but Im leaning more towards the geek in school that got picked on way too much in school.

mdunn

And another thing before his buddys come running to defend his logic,I would never slam someone for speaking their mind, however when I have been a member here for a few years and have never seen him act human to anyone, yes!
How many new members has this pitiful man run off?Is he worth having?I say tar and feather the girly man and be done with him!
