definitely, give it a go...

How come you never buy my dinner at one of these fancy places?

Everything in my life is bought from either Family Dollar, Dollar General or the dollar menu.

30$ for two? did you have saltines and water? live it up a little, son...

are you calling me a liar?

the beers were 5 bucks and the wine 6- we had 6 beers and two glasses of wine for the table...

the perogies are 9.95, the quail egg truffled bread was about the same...

the three salads were like 6 bucks each...

the two filets were 28.95 each...
the two fish and chips were 23.95 each...

you do the math...
turns out, they may have missed something...

$28.95 is not a bad price for a filet in an upscale joint, so long as it's cooked right.  $23.95 for fish & chips is flat insane if you are talking fish & chips like at Paddy's or White Lion.

I can see though how the tab got high, but your wine was cheap.  Can't believe how much the wine part of our tab was when we ate at local table.

it was not really fish and chips... it was pan-seared red snapper with a tomato meuniere (fish), a side of tri-colored pommes frites (chips) and roasted spaghetti squash.

and the filet was perfect...

i may be off on the wine cost but that is my recollection... we just split it 50/50... so i did not pay that close attention...

Stop, Bruno, stop... you had me at "meuniere."

Next thing, you're going to be whispering about lardons. Murmuring to us about kobe beef. Teasing us with tales of camebert, white asparagus and Meyer lemons. And swimsuit season is almost here. Sadist.

Right inteller, but markup on liquor at local OK liquor stores is not so bad compared to other states.  I think OK distilled liquor prices as well as wine, are very reasonable compared to surrounding states.  Learn how to cook a decent meal, and buy the alcohol at the local liquor store.  You will be the rave of your friends for your hospitality skills, and save 50% off the cost of entertaining at a restaurant!

inteller

well, but you can get some very good and cheap margs at Senor Tequilas (on 71st) that will **** you up for only $3-4 a pop.

I don't mind paying for mixed drinks because you are paying partially for bartender talent...but to pay $6 for someone to pour a glass of wine is ridiculous.

Agreed.  What Oklahoma needs are laws allowing consumption in retail wine stores.  That would allow for "retail wine bars" where you walk in, select a bottle from the shelf, sit down and have it opened for you to drink.  I'm a huge fan of these establishments elsewhere.  You can get appetizers, even meals, and your wine is like 1/3 the cost of some other restaurants.

Didn't the state just pass something to allow this to happen? I thought I read that a few weeks back in the TW.
