The Mayor Talks MONEY: Hers?

Today's Lorton's World has this article today about the proposed City Budget:

http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectID=11&articleID=20080502_238_A1_hTayl38233

Never a truer headline, but not as Mayor Taylor's buddies at the Lorton's World intended.

As I've said before on this forum, and incurred the vociferous wrath of the local TulsaMetroChamberPot wannabees, I suspect that Mayor Kathy Taylor is:

Wait for it........

Wait for it........

A FLORIDA RESIDENT.

Reason this is likely:

She keeps declining her Mayoral $105K salary.

WHY does she decline her salary?

Reason:  If she drew a salary, she'd have to complete a IRS Form W-4 for payroll withholding.

And, there's that pesky little box for STATE TAX withholding.

She's a Florida resident, and has been for years.

For TAX purposes.

Her moneybags husband Mr. Lobeck saves gillions  of taxes by earning his money in a state with NO STATE INCOME TAX.

Namely:

Florida.

And, that money is JOINT income for their JOINT Federal Tax Return:  Form 1040.

Is her W-4 a FOIA item for Public Policy Purposes?

IF she's not an Oklahoma resident, would any of   her official acts since taking office actually be LEGAL?

Isn't that kind of a little PROBLEM??????

The Mayor of Tulsa MUST be a Tulsa resident.  And, by definition a resident of FLORIDA cannot be a resident of Tulsa.

We went through this last year, Bear.

She is an Oklahoma resident, and Oklahoma taxpayer, and an Oklahoman registered voter.

Stop making up lies.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Renaissance

Check her voter registration.

She may actually be registered to vote in Tulsa, but claims residency in Florida.

The records of the two states are seldom cross-checked.

However, some enterprising Tax Assessor in Florida ,with a little help from Mr. McCorkell, did out the fact that she claimed Homestead exemption in both Okla. and Florida.

Wrinkle

I wouldn't be surprised to learn there's some significant issue related to her declining a salary.

As I first stated when this was announced, we need to pay her at least $1.00 to make a contractual deal.

This should be done now, and for years' past.

Art Vl, Section 7 of charter:  No person shall be eligible to hold the office of Mayor or City Auditor  unless such person shall be a qualified elector and resident at the time of filing for office"

This raised the question how does one define "qualified elector"  even if alien to the city.  If one rents a hotel room the day before filing they are an "established resident" of the city.

No provisions is made in the amended charter to have a voluntary Mayor.   They should be required to accept the charter conditions on salary and thereafter donate it to charity if they do not want it.

Where are all the legal beavers with advise on throwing out an invited guest because he did not perform.
Today we stand in ecstasy and view that we build today'
Tomorrow we will enter into the plea to have it torn away.

Hmmmmmh?

MAYBE she become a Tulsa resident for the ONE day of filing for office, then hence reverted back to her residency in Florida.

There's a REASON why Mrs. Material-Girl declined her $105K Mayoral salary.

The Shadow apparently knows........

Better yet...proof to us that you have your rabies shots.

Advise that all pets should get vaccinated against rabies.

If a mayor takes an oath to uphold the charter then the city is required to issue them a check and see they get it.   What the mayor does with the check, being it is their personal business, they can sign their name on the back side and give it to any charity they wish.  The charter implies as well as a compulsory require that they receive a set amount as a salary.   The present mayor is in violation of the city charter and should be removed from the office,

Ummm, yeah, right.

So the mayor is deferring her six-figure salary to save money, and shadows wants to remove her from office for that reason.

Down is up. And up is down.

Yes, just explain WHY the Material Girl who lives in the Second Most Expensive house in Tulsa is foregoing her Mayoral salary?

She's actually getting paid what she's Worth??
