yes, had to pickup an anniversary card among other things.  The cashiers don't have a clue what they are doing, nowhere to park, and people everywhere.  Besides the added skylights, automatic lights on the freezer doors with sensors, and the exterior looking different, I can't tell the difference between any other walmart.  It looks the same on the inside.  So much for the "new, upscale type" they were promising! It's only 1 mile from our house, so its definitely close.

Unfortunately, I have yet to go to a grand opening of any kind and the majority of people have a clue what they are doing.

Same problems occurred at Tulsa Hills in March but I bet Target has most of the bugs worked out by now.

my fiancee went there the 2nd or 3rd day they opened (they had some awesome "grand opening sales".)  Needless to say our shopping experience there was 10X better then that of the new wal mart last night.  Atleast at Target, they keep rolls of paper for the cash register stocked at each register.  It took them over 5 minutes to find a roll of paper.  In the meantime, the cashier is staring at me like "what do you want me to do".  After about 3 or 4 minutes, he asked me "do you need a receipt, if not I can go ahead and ring you up".  My reply: What took you so long?  I am not normally a rude person, but seriously...do we have any common sense whatsoever??

I went this morning and didn't have any problems. I don't see THAT many differences between this store on the inside compared with other WM's that have been been built in the last few years. The outside does look a little different.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a Wii (they had 3 left when I bought mine and before I left it was just 1)

I'm like TUAlum and live about a mile away from it so it will be the WM that I go to all the time. I am not looking forward to the traffic congestion that it's going to create coming off of 75. But this too shall pass...

There is about a 2.5 percent increase in the prices vs. the walmart at 81st and Lewis.

After about 3 or 4 minutes, he asked me "do you need a receipt, if not I can go ahead and ring you up". My reply: What took you so long? I am not normally a rude person, but seriously...do we have any common sense whatsoever??

really? its common sense to ask if someone wants to be checked out without a receipt?

i would have never guessed

It is common sense (at least from a customer service standpoint) to at least acknowledge the customer with a greeting or sentence of some kind. And yes, if I were working a cash register (the express line especially, which this was) and noticed the person had 1 item in his/her hand and it happened to be a card, I would politely ask the second I saw the situation "do you need a receipt, if not, I can ring you right up".  Apparently it didn't click in his head till 4 minutes or so after I had been standing there.  IMO that's not asking too much for someone to have that much common sense, is it??

He was probably a little nervous. If you were in such a big hurry, WMT is probably not your best choice.

I wasn't in a huge hurry, but come on now.  It's the closest place to my house that sells cards, and I really just wanted to beat the huge rainstorm that came down about 3 minutes after I got into my car.  I am big on customer service.  So if I recieve poor service, I voice my opinion about it.

Out of 10 times how many times do you get great customer service at WalMart?

well typically I know exactly what I am looking for, get it, and get out.  I don't expect much from Walmart, other then the prices are correct, they greet me at checkout, give me a receipt and its done in a timely manner.  IMO that is not much to ask for.
