Three Named To Arkansas River Hall Of Fame

(Catoosa, OK) -- Three civic leaders will be named to the Arkansas River Historical Society's Hall of Fame next week. The Hall of Fame is for those who have contributed "outstanding service to the development of the Arkansas River, its basin, and the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The new inductees include Enid native Lew Meibergen, who developed the largest private port on the navigation system. Two others will be inducted posthumously. William E. Henderson was executive vice president of the Arkansas Basin Association, the development organization for the project. Terence G. McDonald became responsible for the Port's grain elevator, fertilizer facility, towboats and railroad.<
