For about forty bucks you can buy a "valet parking" vest. Hang out on the sidewalk near busy restaurants and people will give you a car for free.

It seems with peoples credit now days, most average car lots (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, etc...) have special finance programs.  There are also the Buy Here Pay Here lots to build your credit back up.  I personally would suggest Regal Car Sales [1407 S. Memorial].  They only require like a DL, a bill or two to verify where you live, insurance, and a small down payment (less than $1000).  There's also Eldorado Motors on Memorial and the BA Expressway.  I've heard some bad things about Car-Marts and like Auto Master.  There's a lot of other ones around the 11th street area, but I would personally try Regal or Eldorado first.  They don't generally check credit unless it's a higher dollar car, and when it's payed off they report it so you can get credit.
