Hometown

TulsaNow has become my de facto voter's guide.  Thought it would be interesting to see other's picks.  The following are mine:

Hometown's Voter Guide

U.S. Senator.  Abstain
U.S. Representative.  Georgianna W. Oliver
State Senator District No. 11.  Judy Eason McIntyre
State Representative District No. 73.  Kevin Matthews

Remember to Vote next Tuesday, July 29.

Tom Adelson (D) is the Senator in my district.  I think he's been an effective legislator.  Looks like he's got a pass to the general and I really don't see him struggling to keep his seat.  Interesting thing is, his family is supporting Cason Carter (R) in his own Senate race.

Jeannie McDaniel (D) has also done a good job as the Dist. 78 rep.

I see where Jay Matlock has resurfaced to challenge for this job.  He must have found the going a little rough in the real job world after college.

Yes I know it starches your shorts to think of me voting for Democrats HT, but I always say "vote the candidate not the party."  You should try it some time.

Come to the light, Conan.

We are the big umbrella party.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Tulsa Now is somewhat my voter's guide too. I like to vote the opposite of the biggest jerks on the forum, just so I can cancel their vote. To illustrate, I am supporting Randi Miller solely to cancel Medlock.

WRONG

That is the seat being vacated by James Williamson who is term limited. It's a different district

Jeannie McDaniel is o.k.(voted no on 1804)
Tom Adelson is good.

They are my Representative and Senator respectively.

Jeannie McDaniel is wonderful.  She always personally responds to any email I send her.  Very involved, very caring.  I'll vote for her any day.

Her vote on 1804 hasn't been the only disappointment for me. I thought she should have stayed out of the Fairgrounds annexation issue. Her co-sponsorship of HB 2559 still bothers me. I disagree with her vote to give two of the richest men in Oklahoma $60 million to move their Basketball team to OKC. Despite all this, I'll still vote for her because I know Matlock would be much worse.

If she had a primary, I would have definitely given serious consideration to voting for her opponent, though. Like I said she is just O.K.

Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact I disagree with her votes, or don't feel she is representing my views or my values. I am just a misogynist(Just figured, I'd spare Spincycle the only exercise he gets and save him from those exhausting keystrokes).

Oh yeah and don't forget racist, either(hats off to Homeclown).

Jabar surprised me in 73. McInloss continues his losing streak.

Matthews was a pretty impressive candidate, but Jabar is pretty smooth himself. I personally think that Jabar, Eric Proctor and Seneca Scott will be a solid voice and voting block for Tulsa. Talk about some impressive young men.

We'll see. Seneca still has a runoff, btw. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
