Yesterday Bush lifts the executive order restricting oil exploration and Nancy makes this statement:

"The Bush plan is a hoax. It will neither reduce gas prices nor increase energy independence."

Then today Oil prices plummet nearly 10% as reaction to lifting the executive ban.

Meanwhile congressional approval also plummets under 10%.

I love her.

When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

Alarming Gains for Big Oil Need a Response
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tom-matzzie/alarming-gains-for-big-oi_b_112683.html

"News that President Bush is teaming up with the oil companies to push for a big fight over offshore drilling shouldn't surprise anybody. This is a fight that the oil companies and Republicans have been preparing for. Bush needs to win a fight both to boost himself and John McCain. They figure a fight over high gas prices is their best bet and they could be right. But it is a high stakes gamble -- teaming up with oil companies and Bush is something we can turn into a disaster for McCain and the GOP."

"Ironically one of the voices who has emerged to critique our addiction to oil has been T. Boone Pickens -- the iconic Texas oilman and stalwart conservative. His $58 million advertising campaign features his direct-to-camera testimonial saying, "As an oilman, I know we can't drill our way out of this problem."

Let them drill on the leases they already have and are not using

- they don't need more leases-but we do need more refineries as that is where we are lacking - its not that there isnt enough oil, its cause they cannot refine it. Dumbya said in his 2000 campaign that Clinton did nothing for refineries.  Guess what neither has the Busheviks. So, no more new leases until they use the ones they have.......

As Oil Firms Seek Drilling Access, Exports Set Record

"While the U.S. oil industry wants access to more federal lands to help reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, U.S.-based companies are shipping record amounts of gasoline and diesel fuel to other countries. "

http://www.cnbc.com/id/25518912

"A record 1.6 million barrels a day in U.S. refined petroleum products were exported during the first four months of this year, up 33 percent from 1.2 million barrels a day over the same period in 2007. Shipments this February topped 1.8 million barrels a day for the first time during any month, according to final numbers from the Energy Department.

The surge in exports appears to contradict the pleas from the U.S. oil industry and the Bush administration for Congress to open more offshore waters and Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling."

How can you trust Bush? I'd rely more on Pelosi if I were you....

The price drop had nothing to do with anything Bush had to say. It had to do with the speculators and investors getting spooked and selling off shares.

I don't like Pelosi, but she's absolutely right when she says it's a hoax.

Unless you think that 4 is almost 10, you've gotten your numbers mixed up.  While it was down almost $10 a barrel at one point, it ended up down $6.44, which translates to 4.4%.

According to CNN, the drop was attributable to dire statements made by the Federal Reserve Chairman.

Don't confuse Gaspar with the facts. He's got a nice little fantasy going with him and Pelosi. It may have something to do with lubricating oils but nothing to do with reality.

I saw somewhere in the tube the other night that we were indeed building a state of the art refinery in the mid-west. To refine corn into fuel. Can we be that stupid?

Yep, it's the politically correct thing to do.  It might make sense if we used sugar cane like the Brazilians rather than corn.
