From the dust and ruins of a torn down landmark. Rises up a Lady who was kicked while she was down and Damn it ! she was not going to take it anymore. Way to go Sally and good riddance Randi Miller. Next up, Karen Keith. 13 percent turn out at the poles was not what they were looking for.

+1  You know there are those on this forum who pontificate about keith's experience and Sally's lack of.  I disagree.  While she may not have experience IN the system she has much more by being a victim OF the system.  This is only the beginning of the silent majority rising up and telling the politico's to behave.  Good job Sally!  Thanks for giving me hope.

Sally had 7800 votes. Likely 6,000 were people who have little idea who Sally Bell is but just wanted Miller out. Karen Keith is much more well known, well liked and well funded.

POS Miller gone, and POS Keith has zero chance. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Hey Randi, maybe Murphy can get you a job picking up the used wet towels from Big Splash. Wait a minute, I think your are underqualified.

She has a better chance than zero, since I will be voting for her.

Since Sally's family were the one's smacked by the system she might be much more sensitive to our needs than Karen who is like royalty not like one of the serfs. Besides it seems Karen might be a part of the system which may or may not be good.

The only thing I know for certain about Sally Bell is that it sounds like Bell's got screwed hard by the fair board with absolutely zero compassion nor real justification for kicking out the highest-paying lesee.  I shared in the family's outrage and was nearly moved to tears when I saw Bob Bell working amidst the piles of rubble which used to be his business in the last few days they were allowed to work at the former Bell's site.

I first got to know Karen about 23 or so years back when I was bussing tables at a Brookside restaurant while attending classes at TCC.  Out of all the KJRH staff who came in, Karen was the most humble and personable.  She truly takes interest in those around her and has given a lot back to the community over the years, usually quietly and not wanting to attract attention to herself, but humbly crediting others instead of herself.

Karen started serving the community about 20 years ago, first getting involved in the Brookside Business Association.  Newscasters are often seen as head-cases in the community, but Karen has never put on airs about who she is and has always been genuine in her love and activism for Tulsa.  She's a good friend to many and is incredibly genuine.

Karen has been one of the "architects" of Vision 2025.  I've been a less than enthusiastic supporter of that measure, but it's happened and we are progressing.  I think it's a good idea to have someone help shepherd the project who knows it inside and out.

There's a big difference in being an activist who has been jilted by government and someone who actually has an idea how all this works.

Smaligo and Perry have seemed lost in their jobs at times.  I think it would be a very good idea to have someone on board who already has a grasp of government, and someone who could be a consensus-builder between city and county.

I think either one will be an improvement over what we've had in TCD2, but Karen will bring much more experience to the table and an open mind.

Both are sketchy between Miller & Bell.

I may lift my protest of the Democrats in this state for Karen Keith on this one.

We'll see.

I like Karen Keith and thought she done a very good job as a News Anchor. But this morning on channel 6, they had a clip of her making a statement that she was not for raising taxes but cannot say that she would not vote for a tax increase if it was approved by her constituents. Sounds like a statement by a follower and not by a leader. She may need to brush up on her public political speaking.

That's the kind of representation we want, don't you think?

Randi Miller really didn't consider what the constituency wanted when she rolled out the river tax plan.

Do you want an autocrat who will decide to raise taxes on a whim without considering what their constituents want?  I sure don't.  I think it's great someone is interested in what their constituency thinks.  That's a strength, not a weakness, especially considering who she is running to replace.

I saw that clip too. I drew different conclusions. Bell is either naive, ignorant or pandering. Taxes run our city/county. Taxes and death my friend, to tell voters otherwise is demagoging.

Channel 6 has finally been struck off my news list. It was pretty transparent that they showed Bell strolling among supporters and quoted her as anti-tax, then showed a clip of a pragmatic Keith saying if the need exists that a tax may be necessary. (translation: pro tax). Apparently the tactic was successful. Are we that stupid?

Bell's words are cheap and cynical. The tax issue is as old as prostitution and neither is going away.

You mean approved after the VOTE YES TO HIGHER TAXES campaign spends $1,000,000 promoting the new tax, with Echo Chamber support from the Lorton's World and Channel 862?
