The World has its arena special section publised today available at tulsaworld.com/bokcenter. It is well put together.

I particularly enjoyed the online panoramas and the video tour.

I like the choice of local concessions, including sushi. Very nice.

I must say this is one of the most impressive arena's, design-wise, in the US. Absolutely beautiful.

Duct tape references and other general bashing begins in 3....2....1....

The print version was actually pretty good as well.  It included what I believe to be a rendering of the sketch that Cesar Pelli put together to start it off as a full page ad/thank you from Pelli/Manhattan/Flintco/Matrix.

It was a really good insert although their map to restaurants left a bit to be desired. I just took a quick glance but saw two restaurants which aren't open yet (one isn't even built, the other was badly mispelled) and two that are members only. They had several listings 1.5miles from the arena which seemed a bit far away.

What is this Bank Lounge that was listed on that map? I always thought it was some kind of Google ghost or something. According to Google, it's either on or under the overpass over the train tracks. According to the World's map, it's inside the PAC.

The print version of the section is nice, I am going to keep it.

The duct tape crowd can say what they want, it's still a gorgeous arena, something for Tulsa to be proud of.

Bank Lounge

LOL!!!!!

The world apparently used Google Maps or some other unverified reference for their source. "Bank Lounge" is not in downtown Tulsa. It's not even in Tulsa. It's 2 N Cincinatti in Sperry!!!!

RecycleMichael

That is funny.

Sperry is not real close to downtown Tulsa.
Power is nothing till you use it.

What's a "Sperry"? Sounds like some sort of bird or possibly a fruit.

Its where they make those famous "TopSiders" isn't it?

TheTed

The 'Bank Lounge' listing would make slightly more sense if it didn't have a description.

But the description of "Casual yet classy" makes it sound like somebody actually visited it.

Did the reviewer not realize he left Tulsa when he visited and reviewed it?

sgrizzle

the writers seem quite puzzled when I wrote them about it but are correcting the online version.

"Know your World"

That's it, I should've done the "BLERP" and "DING DING DING" sound effects.

As much as I am ambiguous about the World, those commercials are pretty entertaining.

'I love arena football'.

Hilarious.
