Oklahoma normally has the nations cheapest fuel, But not this time I seen on a Omaha web site that some stations in the Metro Omaha area are having a "gas war" and prices are as low as $2.89 a gallon. In other parts of the country gasoline is high and hard to find since the hurricane like in Nashville and Atlanta people have to line up for gas. Houston is still having fuel problems too.[B)]

Drive a few miles outside the Tulsa metro area and prices go up several cents. QT and competition keep it cheaper in Tulsa than in most of green country.

We've been to Springfield, Mo. a few times this past summer and they had cheaper gas than us each time. Quick Trip isn't the big kahuna up there like they are here.
I was in Kingfisher, Okla. last weekend and they even had cheaper gas than us!
I'm thinking maybe by the first of the week we will see it below the $3 mark.[;)]

Often it's about the same.  At the moment it's higher.  (I know this because we currently live just outside of Branson on Tablerock and make trips to Tulsa a couple of times a month.)  I just bought gas at the Ozark QT a couple of hours ago and it was $3.24.  As you say, QT isn't the Big Kahuna up here, but I'm just glad they have even a small presence here.  We moved from Tulsa to Fort Lauderdale last year, then to Branson (and now moving back to Tulsa in a couple of weeks!) and I was having serious QT Withdrawals in FL!

I expect -zero- sympathy but be glad you are not buying airplane gas.  Last weekend it was $4.79/gal at Riverside/Jones airport by Jenks.

That's cheap compared to most other places around the country that are selling it for upwards of $6 a gallon for 100LL.  People are now calling it 'blue gold'.

Who else could it be?

Don't look now, but it's already dropped to $3.09.

Sub-$3 gas is coming fast.

It may also have to do with the switch from summer grade back.  The summer grade gas that the five county region chooses to use always makes us more expensive than the City in the summer.  They usually revert around the 1st of October every year.

Hey, look what date it is!

Or worse.  It was over $5 here just a month or so ago.  It feels strange to be glad gas is only $4.79.

While in the Mid West City area Friday and Saturday I found 100% gasoline for as low as $2.84 per gallon.  Some Ethanol was still as high as $3.04.  One intersection had four gas stations with fuel ranging from $2.89 up to $3.20.  Reminded me of the old gas wars of the 60s.

You could tell the folks that were cash poor and dependent upon the Gas Company Credit plan.
