It was The Thunder's first game on Oklahoma soil and they defeated the Houston Rockets 110-104. It was their first win of the preseason.

Most outlets stated that attendance was 9,560, although the Tulsa World reported an audience of 10,007, including the Oklahoma City mayor.

I like the fact that the OKC Thunder's first ever win came in Tulsa. OKC played in their "away" colors and houston wore the "home" colors. Not sure why they did that.

Because technically it was a Houston Rockets home game.

Do we need to show someone a map?

Remember that initially the game was against Orlando and Houston was still the home team.  Probably couldn't be changed due to contract.

Tulsa,

Thanks for the Thunder support you showed at the beautiful BOK Center.

Many of us will be lobbying for the team to play six of their 41 games in Tulsa next season; afterall, this is a state team which favors the Oklahoma City brand name.

They would have to lower the season ticket prices in OKC for fewer home games and discount the face value in Tulsa...

Yes, but supposedly by having some real games here, they can get a much better market penetration in Tulsa and that bleeds over into merchandising, TV broadcasts, etc.

YoungTulsan

If it bleeds, perhaps it is too much penetration?

I think it would be great to have a few regular season games in Tulsa.

The October 13 Oklahoman says they can't play any regular season games in Tulsa because of "contractual obligations with the Ford Center."

It's great they won their preseason debut at the BOK. Unfortunately the following night they lost their Ford Center debut to the LA Clippers by just two points.
