Here's the McCain campaign dirty little secret--Palin was never chosen to attrack female votes.  The idea that she could stand in the shoes of Hillary is ridiculous.  As an ex-beauty queen, she was clearly chosen to attract men.  Of course they had to spend $150,000 on her clothes, hair and makeup.

FYI, if you break it down to the 6 weeks she's been in the race, she has spent approximately $3,600 a day.

Just to make a point--Michelle Obama appeared on The View in an off the rack $150 dress.  Still a little expensive for my checkbook, but much more within the "average American."

Wow, that's touching.  I bet her closet is full of $150 dresses.

Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead in a $150 dress if I was out in drag, but that's just me.

Just going out on a limb here, but I bet Michelle Obama looks better in that $150 dress than you would look in any dress.  [;)]

Maybe I'm cheap, but $150 seems more than enough to spend on a dress.

OK, I'll be honest.  I am really, really cheap.  Kohls is high class to me.  Last dress I bought cost around $80.  That seemed about right.  If I had to spend $3000 dollars on an outfit, I wouldn't know I would do it.

And John Edwards got roasted for a $400 haircut, holy crap.

Palin spends $150,000 dollars of GOP money on clothes.

Did Edwards donate his hair to charity?

I've met Conan. If he steps a little closer to the razor and applies some Nair elsewhere, he'd be downright fetching in a cocktail dress. [;)]

Funny comments from Mike Murphy (chief strategist from McCain's 2000 presidential bid) regarding the $150000:

quote:

I saw the RNC statement on Gov. Palin's $150,000 clothing bender on the RNC's tab. This caper is gonna make for a long day at the office for the good folks at the RNC/McCain press operation. Thought I'd offer a little help in a humorous vein; some other possible spin lines for the RNC.

1.) What you sneering critics in the liberal MSM fail to see here is... a Jobs Program! Saks floorwalkers, cashiers, a team of sweating porters to haul the merchandise from the store to the motorcade... chiropractors to treat those porters. Sarah Palin knows how to create jobs!

2.) What's the difference between a Pit Bull and a Hockey Mom? You can feed a pit-bull for 483 years with 150 grand.

3.) Still cheaper than Mitt Romney's hair products. We're saving money here...

4.) William Ayres is a terrorist!

5.) New ad slogan: "Clothes for Gov. Palin? $150,000. Time machine to go back two months to late August and ask what the Hell were Schmidt and Davis thinking when they cooked up this idea and sold it to McCain? Priceless."

Obviously, Murphy & McCain aren't the good budies they once were.
