they are showing the F.F. Coppola film downtown, i think it would be fun if the weather breaks a bit, i suggest getting there with a box fan and an extension cord, ice cooler and a lawn chair

this is on the green between the hotel and the perf arts center, along 3rd street.

I really wanted to go to this but I will probably pass due to the temp.

I had to pass on the symphony on the West side of the river last night for the same reason.

Anyone make it out there last night who can tell me I was wrong?  I really love this sort of thing.

On the bright side, it will cool down quite a bit after sundown.  And the Crowne Plaza will provide shade to the west...which will help.  And downtown often has a breeze...

(And if you bring a bucket of ice water to stick your feet in...)

I'm glad to hear that they're doing this "live music & movie" thing.  Great idea.  Now if we could just work on Tulsa's climate...

Actually, this would be a perfect event for fall...when Tulsa's weather calms down, and sunset comes sooner (the movie could start earlier).  I hope it becomes a regular event...and I'm sure it will attract more folks when it's not 100+ during the day.

On the other hand, maybe those folks who do yoga in extreme heat could come downtown and just make it part of the event...

I too am glad they are marketing downtown. I also love Rumblefish and remember sneaking around the sets when they filmed it.

My criticism is that it is not a family flick. It is rated R and deals with adult issues.

I hope I can bring my kids to the next one shown.
