Holy smokes on fire, Sarah Coburn is the rockingest coloratura soprano I've ever heard.  She sings the title role in 'Lucia' like it was written for her.

Come to the Tulsa PAC -TONIGHT- at 7:30 or Sunday at 2:30!!

From the Tulsa Opera website:

"Loosely based on Sir Walter Scott's historical novel, The Bride of Lammermoor, Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia gives us the tragic tale of love, family politics, madness and murder in 17th-century Scotland. When a young woman is forced to give up the love of her life and marry a man she does not love, soul-chilling horrors ensue...

For countless opera lovers the world over, our 2009 - 2010 season opener – "the ultimate romantic opera" – is simply synonymous with bel canto at its soaring best. In the title role, some of opera's greatest sopranos have brought audiences to their feet in wild applause with spectacular, show-stopping displays of acrobatic coloratura artistry. Expect nothing less from the stars of our own 2009 Lucia, returning from their triumphant Tulsa Opera debuts: Sarah Coburn – whose ravishing Lakmé dazzled audiences in 2008 – and the acclaimed tenor Scott Piper, Don Josè in our 2007 Carmen."

Yes, she is HIS daughter, but don't let that keep you away, leftwingers.  She has a voice to be heard and may be listed among the greats someday.

AVERAGE JOE

I couldn't agree more. She is nothing short of spectacular. Lucia was a wonderful evening.
