I would rather follow you on the ramp than most of the drivers I do get to follow.  I don't know how they expect to merge into 65 (+) MPH traffic when they are going 50.

How many have you seen pulled over?  There may be a method to their madness.

Trans Am, Camero, Mustang, BMW, G35/37 and other sporty cars are generally high speed police catchers.

red arrow, agree with both of your posts.  My wife drives a BMW, in the 2.5yrs since we bought the car new, she has been pulled over 4 times in it.  Myself, none.  Each time she got away with a warning though, 1 of the 4 being a female cop.  I like to think we buck the trend of BMW drivers who don't use their signal.  We are both very polite, (both tend to speed) and are considerate of others on the road.  Most bmw drivers arent for some reason.

My BMW is a bit older (1995).  I try to be predictable in my driving moves.  So far I have been successful in not getting hit or hitting someone.  There have been a few bumper taps at stop lights in other cars. I've been stopped and been tapped.

TUalum0982, 4 times? Dang, does she have a lead foot or what?

I gotta defined the BMW honor, being an ex-M3 ('97) owner, always (and still do of course) use my signal.  You would hope that people who drive the 'finer' European models would also drive the European way.  Use signals, and only use the inner lane to pass.  It's a driving style I try to abide by.

The cars I now keep my eye on are Nissan Altimas, I don't know what their deal is, but they seem to always be tall gators and cutter offers.  At least with truck drivers they seem to sometimes give ya more space (if just a little).

My biggest peeve now is when I'm merging onto a highway and the person behind me decides he's just can't wait his turn and will cut over the solid white lines (even though there is pavement for them to drive on).  I know its stupid to do, but I'll just merge onto the road like I was going to anyway, causing them to either emergency brake or emergency switch over into the innermost lane.  F'ers.  ::)

I told you (or someone) in a previous thread (months ago) that BMWs have turn signals.  There are no instructions on how to use them.

Ahh, that part of the manual is written in German, eh?   ;)

No, I can read a little bit of German.  It's missing.

For whatever it's worth, I have yet to receive a ticket from OHP. I get warnings once a year or so. Last time I got one was a couple of weeks ago when I was blowing by some slower traffic on 412 out towards Inola doing about 15 over. I was sure I'd end up with a ticket.

Triply so when it turned out my so had forgotten to renew her tags (29 days overdue, no less!) and I couldn't find her proof of insurance. Nice guy, that one.

Troopers in Arkansas are much less forgiving. If they pull you over, you're pretty much getting a ticket. One of them ticketed me for 8 over when I was, in his sight, accelerating to pass a truck that was weaving dangerously. Worst of all, he had the gall to chastise me for driving dangerously (78 in a 70 with actual lane discipline) when this guy in a big rig couldn't keep it in his lane on a completely calm day, necessitating the speed in the first place. And on Christmas Eve.
