Cox internet question...

In an attempt to save a bit of cash...we're thinking about dropping from our Cox Internet Preferred w/ Power Boost to the Cox Essential Internet. I've seen the differences in the upload/download speeds between the two.

Anyone have the Essential option? I'd say I'm a typical internet user. Mostly browsing and email...download family pics...stream some music...etc.

Thanks for any input.

90% of the time the essential is more then enough bandwidth that said if you use Hulu, youtube, or any other video sites they will not work as well as they do now.

Indeed.
should be more than enough until you start trying to stream Netflix and download movies and whatnot.

You'll be fine.  You might have to wait a bit longer for a buffer on vid streaming like others have said.

Hell, I'm on the preferred and the only time I see anything above 1 meg DL is when I'm getting Windows Updates  >:(

Right now we're only paying $29.99 for the preferred (new customer deal), but I fully intend to drop down to the Essential @ $22.99 once our new year is up.

Tip: If you have cox net, you'll receive the local channels for free in HD.  Food for thought if you don't want to mess with an antenna.

Appreciate the replies...just what I was looking for.

Made some significant cuts to my Cox internet/tv/telephone setup...saving over $50 a month. Still highway robbery...but hey...its fifty bucks.
