Where is the mayor on this? Too busy covering his own rear end to worry about this?

How is the "Job-Getting-est" mayor doing to work with these two companies...

Cathy Taylor would have been on a Jet to the HQ of these companies to start talking JOBS!

Anyone else find this odd he has yet to comment on 700 potential jobs leaving..or is he waiting until a year from now when they announce the layoff's?

Might help if you tell us specific facts about what's going on before going off.

Citation please?

Exactly; I've been spending the last 10 minutes on the World's website trying to find something out...unless you're speaking about the nearly-year-old-news about the Avis attmepted merger.

Sorry about that...it was on the front page last night and this morning..must have moved...I vote for Avis/Budget over Hertz..but again, what is the city doing?

The recent news is the bidding war over DTAG.

Ironically zstyles doesn't realize that KT and her husband were both rental car magnates which might skew how much time she would've spent on this.

Buyout doesn't mean move, although it likely could. If the chamber was worth it's weight they would be at both potential buyer's HQ's offering them tax breaks, free land and virgins to HQ the combined company in Tulsa.

Sadly, it's not.

I don't think you guys are being realistic.  DT is the smaller company and the only way that the purchase will produce synergy would be to close this HQ and move the people they need to their existing HQ and give a severence to the rest of them.  I don't want them to move but that's typically what happens.  The mayor is not going to have any say in it, he's an independent 3rd party in this negotiation.  It's between DT and its suitors.  Once a decision has been made, the Chamber could try to entice them to keep some operations here but it would really be a longshot for it to work.
