TALONS BATTLE TAMPA BAY IN 1ST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS

The Tulsa Talons, the most winning team in af2 history will take on the Tampa Bay Storm, five-time Arena Bowl champions Saturday night at the BOK Center at 7pm in the 1st round of the 2010 AFL playoffs. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season.  The Talons won the 1st contest by a score of 69-58 in week one of the regular season.
The Talons are entering the playoffs for the 11th straight season (qualifying all 11 years in franchise history) and are coming off their 9th straight division title. The Talons finished the regular season with the 2nd best offense in the league averaging 62.1 points per game. The offense will need to be firing on all cylinders as they will be facing the league's 2nd stingiest defense.  The Storm gave up just 50.8 points per game during the regular season.
The Talons' offense put up some lofty numbers this season in large part due to its balance.  Talons' QB Justin Allgood led the AFL in touchdown passes with 109 (breaking his franchise record of 108), Donovan Morgan led the AFL in touchdown receptions with 52, Odie Armstrong led the AFL in rushing with 349 yards and all three wide receivers eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark in receiving.
On the other side of the ball for each team, the Storm averaged 57.9 points per game offensively led by their QB Brett Dietz who threw for 106 touchdown passes. The Talons who gave up 56.2 points per game on defense were led by Gabe Nyenhuis who led the AFL in forced fumbles and sacks and Jamar Ransom who led the Talons with 92 tackles .
On paper the two teams are evenly matched. The game will be decided by which team can protect their quarterback and which team has the fewest turnovers.
Tickets to the game can be purchased by calling the Talons office at 294-1000.

Changing opinions one mistake at a time.

Yes, it was a depressing game.  Yet somehow I still went ahead and bought season tickets for next year..  ;D

Worst game I've ever been to. They played awful. They did draw almost 6,000 which is good. Usually nobody shows up for the playoff games.
