Quote"This modern version of Thanksgiving would horrify the devout Pilgrims and Puritans who sailed to America in the 17th century. The holiday that gave rise to Thanksgiving — a 'public day' that they observed regularly — was almost the precise opposite of today's celebration. It was not secular, but deeply religious. At its center was not an extravagant meal, but a long fast. And its chief concern was not bounty but redemption: to examine the faults in oneself — and one's community — with an eye toward spiritual improvement."

- Historian Eve Laplante, originally quoted in a 2007 Boston Globe article.

Sounds like it would've sucked.

In much the same way the future will look back and view our RWRE warped and distorted version of "conservatism".

Oh, wait, I guess we have had McCarthyism before, only it was pointed at Russian Communists instead of Muslims.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

My point was I enjoy turkey and mashed potatoes.

Not really sure about hunting down some communists or conservatives.
