I thought I saw a bunch of building material stacked neatly on the site Saturday.  Unless they are using it for a laydown yard for the Tribune II, I was assuming they are getting ready to start construction.

Hopefully. I never get to go downtown. I hate Bixby.

Tis all for Tribune II.

I don't think it will start until most or all of the Tribune construction is complete. They are using the site for tenant parking right now. So if they have to wait until construction on the Tribune is complete, it probably won't start until this winter. But I would think that since the parking garage appears to be mostly done, this project could move forward before then. But who knows?

That is what I heard.  Once Tribune II is complete (or at least the exterior) they will no longer need the laydown yard and shift their project office to inside the building.  Then the hotel will start construction soon after.  Is Wil around to confirm this?

That's correct SXSW.  The ownership has allowed the Tribune II project to utilize the site during construction while they finalize the construction financing.  Once that has been completed, they will move to file permit and begin construction.

During that time, they will also be finalizing the interior design elements that will reflect the new design scheme for the Fairfield Inn brand that Marriott is beginning to roll out in all new FFI hotels.  This hotel shoudl be among the first with the new scheme.
