Jimmy Carter isn't really a bad person.  He was just not that great a President.  I do think he has sometimes meddled where he shouldn't have a bit though.

Agreed. Each president has to be judged by the major issues of his time and how he handled them. The last really good presidents by those criteria might have been Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower and (arguably) Kennedy.

Carter kind of carried some Southern Baptist flavor to his post presidential activities.
