I need a good blade sharpener

I saw a mobile blade sharpener driving around town but can never catch the whole number.  i need my mower blade sharpened by Saturday.

Don't know for sure, but buying a new blade may be cheaper these days. Other than that I'd sharpen it myself.

I'd recommend buying a new one...it was much less hassle.  Approximately $10 at Sears.

the blade is $16.  I'm pretty sure I can get it sharpened for less than that.

I get mine sharpened at Bailey Equipment in Owasso. They seem good, but I dunno if you would wanna come up here just for that. It's next to Robertson Tire on the east frontage road of 169 between 76th and 86th.

i discovered Ace Hardware will do it for $6.  but they cant do it until monday....oh well.

I would phone first to check their schedule, but most these should be able to handle your blade sharpening while you wait.  Just takes a bench grinder and a knife blade to balance the blade after sharpening.  Done a ka-zillion of em.  

Most times if you own a mulching type mower, the blade is actually worn out and sharpening, while it may make the blade cut clean again, will not bring back the propeller effect which picks up the cut grass and circulates it to mulch the clippings into oblivion.

Best to stop by Sears or where you purchased the mower and compare your old blade to a new one.  The service tech or parts guru should be able to tell you the prognosis of what you need.

If the blade is worn out, only proper option is replacement.  Part of the expense of being a homeowner, or property owner or Landscape/Mowing business owner.  Weed Wacker line, chain saw blade sharpening, fuel and oil, Edger blades, Mower blades, Riding mower belts and tires, sparking bolts, trailer bearings, and the annual battery replacement.  Been through it all many times.  

Red Daley at Daley's Speed Shop on Charles Page Blvd can sharpen your blade if it is not worn out, or the Mower Salvage next door to his shop.

I don't have the number to the Mower shop next door, but if you call Red he will give it to you.  They start early around 8am that is the best time to get something done while you wait.  Bring some good coffee with you if you drink it, they like to sit and jaw a little early in the morning.  Some great stories and bench racing go on early in the AM, especially on cold mornings.  

There are a couple of other shops that can handle the sharpening, Lahmeyers at Virgin and Sheridan and Lahmeyers on Apache.
