Not a chance.

I did see where Don Anus is suing CBS for $40mm for breach of contract.  In his suit he claims that CBS encouraged and profited from his non-PC behavior and comments.

For sure it will not.  Too bad, he seems to be an interesting person.

One thing in his defense, the club was supposed to be 18 and up.  The guy is clearly full of himself (everyone wants me!), but perhaps not a pedophile.

Another example how someone can make one incredibly stupid mistake and destroy everything they have built.  Idiot.

I disagree with "Fairness Doctrine".  Besides the free market aspect, right-wing radio has the tendency to be self-destructive.  I'd rather keep it that way.

Self destructive would be Air America.  No listeners, no profit, no Air America.  Conservative radio is a flourishing and economically viable product.  I don't see what you mean by self-destructive.

I don't know: I've often found one hour of Air America programming to be more entertaining and enlightening than one month of Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, and Mike Gallagher COMBINED!

If there were more people who were entertained by it, then AA would have stood on it's own two legs.

It didn't.

Since we never got it here that I'm aware of, I never listened.  Al Franken always acted like such a boob on SNL, I would have never given him a serious thought as a legit political commentator.  That said, just watch- Minn. will elect him to the Senate.  They did manage to elect a pro wrestler as Gov. [;)]

Obviously, there is a certain segment of American society who doesn't feel like they are served by the traditional media.  Witness the explosion in "conservative" media since 1992.

For years I figured "mainstream" "drive-by" and "liberal" media were marketing ploys by Limbaugh, Hannity, and the like.  The more I really dissect what is presented as news- there really is a bias.  I can't say that it's so much for liberal purposes, but Michael C hit the nail on the head in another thread last week- they report what sells and what makes them ad revenue.  Just like the thread I started on selling bad news: I don't believe it has to do with a liberal or Democrat agenda so much as the media believes we will only tune in when they are reporting bad news or reporting on societal mis-fits like Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, or whomever the flavor of the week is.

Legislation to tell me what I should or should not be hearing is total BS.  There are, I believe, around 40 commercial public radio licenses in the Tulsa market.  There's plenty of balance to be found if you really want to look for it.  I don't think a gov't should start dictating the programming.  That's very reminiscent of what is being fed to citizens living under dictatorships.

With the accusations of a "liberal bias" in media, even conservatives such as William Kristol admit that it's not even close to the threat that they prtray it to be.

And I quote:

"I admit it. The whole idea of the 'liberal media' was often used as an excuse by conservatives for conservative failings."

Amazing. I might also submit that some conservatives have promoted the liberal media myth further their cause, to control the debate and intimidate the mainstream media. As if Liberal is a dirty word.
