Thought we could discuss the one year away elections for state representatives.

Please post any candidate information you can find...

My representative is Jeannie McDaniel (D)78. I haven't heard that she is running again, but hope she does. I know her opponent from last time Jessie Guardiola (R) is and has already had a fundraiser.

I heard that Jabar Shumate (D) 73 is running again. I barely know him but like him. He has a very strong primary opponent in Kevin Matthews (a tulsa firefighter). He has a kick-off planned for this Sunday.

I am surprised that these two strong candidates are running against each other for a northside seat, yet the northside city council races are barely able to get more than one qualified candidate. I guess a state house seat is just way better than a city council seat.

Another northside house seat up for grabs is district 72, vacated by Darryl Gilbert (D) who is termed out. I know of three democratic candidates so far. Seneca Scott, an energy/environmentalist supported by the Choctaw tribe, Christi Breedlove (a local party activist who served as secretary of the Tulsa County democratic party, and Monroe Nichols, who works for the Tulsa Mayor's office heading the gang task force and is an ex-football star at TU. This should be a very interesting race.

If anybody has any other information or candidate websites, please post them.

Jeannie had her kick off party several weeks ago, so yes, she is running.  I regret that she is no longer my representative, though I have a pretty good one now.  But Jeannie routinely stands up for what is right, even if it is not always politically expedient.  She is readily available to her constituents, and does an excellent job of representing those from all walk of life.  She makes me proud to be a democrat.  I wish I could vote for her.

Jeannie is absolutely amazing.  VERY involved and very available.  I can't believe anyone would run against her.

How about the republicans from Tulsa?

Sue Tibbs?
Chris Benge?
Pam Peterson?
Daniel Sullivan?
Fred Jordan?
Ron Peters?
Dennis Adkins?
John Wright?
Ron Peterson?

Surely, someone from the local elephant party can give us some information.

Ok, donkey party.

What about Lucky Lamons?

Eric Proctor?

Lucky is my rep.  I am sure he is running again.  Last time around, he didn't get an opponent.  I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't again.  Procter will probably get someone, though--he has a much more competitive district.

Kathy's clown doesn't stand a chance. Word's already out about that TYPro. He just recently moved into the district to run for this seat.

Let's be honest, was carrying the water for Bumgarner's HB 2559 as it's sponsor standing up for what's right? The only reason she killed it was she got caught and it was political suicide not to do so. Talk about political expediency. She's no saint, truth be told. If Guardiola is her opponent she'll be easily re-elected.

I know it's not a house seat, but the race to watch will be Senator Nancy Riley's district(37). The Republicans have identified her as their number one target. Count on this race getting real ugly, real fast.

You know nothing about him except that he works for the Mayor...So you feel compelled to bash him.

Pathetic.

As I recall, the "Bumgarner amendment" regarding the HP districts was stuck on to Jeannie's bill by another rep (Peterson??).  Rather than try to remove the amendment, she killed the bill.

It is futile, pmcalk.

DoubleA would rather attack all women candidates, even if he has to make up the facts.
