Well, I get freaked out by the creepy stuff I've said over a year ago when I might have been of a different consciousness. Must be hell to be a politician and actually have people reading and noting what you say.[:D]

So what?  Then I must be king of responders to revived zombie threads.

If you have no interest, just ignore it.

that is just it, you can't tell if it is interesting (our even originated within past ****ing year) until you open it up...

you'll note i have not responded to any of his thread resurrections and am ignoring them by starting this topic in it's own thread...

and that begs the question, if you like them so much- so what? why did you respond to my thread why not take your own advice and ignore it?...

i thought someone might have some witty insight (i.e. his internet is reallllly slow, he's got the forum posts sorted by date- backwards)... ligthen' up francis... jebus, an attempt at a little levity and some people lose their ****ing cool...

A couple of moderators encouraged me to participate more on the forum in an effort to counter-act some of the crazies with my more reasoned replies.

I was very interested in the thread begun by Chicken Little about how wrong Michael Bates was on the issue of rail transit, but that topic was locked.  It was spoiled by ad hominem and off-topic remarks.

I post about things of interest to me.  Some of my most recent posts have been about things that are scheduled to happen in the future, such as the conversion of Boston Avenue to two-way traffic and Union High School's production of Fiddler on the Roof.  My posts are topical, and I don't consider matters of discussion on this forum to be dead issues.  The older topics are eventually archived or locked, I guess.  The active topics are on the board and up for discussion.

I ignore topics which do not interest me.  Ignoring certain topics, certain posts by certain users, and the entire TulsaNow forum is always an option.

For anyone who thinks the forum is stale, starting a new topic for discussion is another option.  I did that once in 2005.

so there you go, a reasonable- if not quirky, explanation for the booworld zombie threads...

Me too, but I appreciate the revival of some threads. For example, the "Oklahoma Adoption Laws" thread I started in the Chat section about 15 months ago. The responses have been few and far between, but I welcome any reponse to this subject and I am interested in anyone's opinion, regardless of response time.

Seems to me that brunoflipper is the one that needs to "lighten up francis."

it was a valid question and i got an answer...

for three days, boo's been responding to long-dead threads and i've wondered why...

it had nothing to do with you steve but thanks anyway for chiming in with the always insightful  "so what? ignore it" bull****...

I will also add that I've received many favorable reponses to my posts (in person, via email, and via private messages) and very few complaints.  Other users seem to enjoy reading what I have to say, or at least that's what they've conveyed to me over the years.

The subject of land use is a prime issue for me -- and that's very fitting because it goes to one of TulsaNow's core principles.  I'll admit that many of my posts are repetitive because so many topics are related to the subject of land use.  So many issues discussed here boil down to the fact that Tulsa doesn't have the density required to support many or most items on our wish list, and unless we drastically change our land use policies, things will only get worse.  That's the reality of a sparse population and sprawling infrastructure.  The subject of land use is never dead to me.  I welcome the continuing discussion of planning and zoning issues.  As for the ad hominem remarks and thread-jacks -- I can do without those.

^ I imagine that there's much more than a kernel of truth in that statement.

^ Many people are dying to see that one, no??

Thanks for the link to that important film.  Re-animating corpses instead of wasting precious real estate with cemeteries is one way of intensifying land use.

YoungTulsan

Yeah, I could swear he bumped one up the other day about the Land Run.

booWorld

I don't much about the Land Run, but I'd say that it's topical and worthy of discussion.

^ I think it would be best for me to wait a few months before I try to respond to any comments about Milton Berle or elections.
