Oh yeah, the same guy Hillary doesn't know...

cannon_fodder

lol, Obama worked 6 hours for the guy as an associate.  Can I claim a close relationship with everyone I've billed 6 hours to?  I've billed BOk before, Kaiser and I are tight.  Who runs BNSF?  OneOK.  Case and Associates.  Walmart.

I doubt Hillary really wants to open debate on who has the most dirty money, not only has she and Bill accepted donations from this very same man but she has plenty of other skeletons in her closet.

Chung made forty-nine separate visits to the White House between February 1994 and February 1996...Chung was eventually convicted of bank fraud, tax evasion, and two misdemeanor counts of conspiring to violate election law.

(if one of your stepping stones to the presidency is 'was married to Bill' then the liabilities come with it)

Or her association with Norman Hsu, who donated more than $100,000 to Hillary's current campaign and was granted the title "Hillraiser" for the amount of money he brought in.  He even hosted a $1mil dinner for her.  Then he was arrested for fraud.

The chair of her Campaign Finance Committee for her Senate run was indicted for filing false reports and attempting to hide information.

The chair of HER financing committee.  He employee.

I won't bother posting pictures of her with all the convicted felons and close friends she got her husband to pardon (Jo Gregory foremost) to cover up their previous misdeeds.

The notion that she has some high ground here is laughable.  She has had to give back more money than anyone else in that I know of in politics.  Her own finance director was arrested.

Desperate times I guess.

After the past 7 years, new low levels were established by the Rovians. Sorry, this minutia pales when held up against lying us into Iraq and the numerous crimes committed in and out of our own White House. Even attacks on Billary's connections don't phase me. Nor would anything Larry Flint drops on politicians. It's all tame in comparison to the fallout from Bushco.

Hillary isn't better than Bush, she just hasn't had a chance to screw things up yet.

RecycleMichael

I disagree. No one could be as bad as Bush has been.

Anybody else for President.
Power is nothing till you use it.

I too have noticed that Hillary seems to be running against Bush.  I thought she had a primary and a general election against NOT Bush, but for whatever reason she was in Florida talking about how bad Bush sucks a yesterday.  But the reason I brought up her many connections with criminals is because SHE brought it up with Obama.

Hilldog: Obama's a crook!
Media: Hillary is at least 5 times the crook.
Hilldog: George Bush sucks!

Ooooh, good comeback.

Some Leading Liberals Turn Against the Clintons

Monday, January 28, 2008 8:28 AM

By: Matt Purple

As the Clinton campaign battles the Obama campaign in the Democratic presidential primaries, more and more observers on the political left are criticizing the Clintons for being dishonest and deceitful -- claims that once were lodged mostly by the political right.

Robert Reich, former Labor Secretary in the Bill Clinton administration, has accused his old boss of leading a "smear campaign against Obama that employs some of the worst aspects of the old politics."

"Bill Clinton's ill-tempered and ill-founded attacks on Barack Obama are doing no credit to the former president, his legacy, or his wife's campaign. Nor are they helping the Democratic Party," Reich wrote on his blog.

Liberal talk-radio host Ed Schultz blasted the former president on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews: "[Clinton] lied 10 years ago about Monica Lewinsky and he's lying about a very viable candidate and somebody who could really bring change in this country [Sen. Barack Obama]. He is embarrassing poor Democrats."

Schultz, whose radio program is broadcast from North Dakota, was rated the most influential liberal radio personality in the nation and the fifth most influential host overall by Talkers Magazine.

In a recent conference call with reporters, former Sen. Tom Daschle criticized "President Clinton's inaccurate descriptions of the differences between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the war, about his inaccurate portrayal of Barack's comments ... he made about Republicans."

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) griped that Clinton had "shaded things and tried to manipulate the facts in a way that is patently unfair."

Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) warned that Obama's record was being "swift boated" -unfairly attacked. Kerry did not name the Clintons directly as the perpetrators of the "swift boating," but the implication was clear.

"The fight is just heating up," Kerry said. "We won't let them steal this election with lies and distortions."

Nicholas von Hoffman, a veteran liberal columnist, wrote in Nation magazine that Hillary Clinton is an "experienced political thug." He also accused both Clintons of "playing demolition derby politics" and advised Barack Obama to take a word of advice from former president Lyndon Johnson: "[don't get] into a pissing contest with a skunk."

Von Hoffman also compared the Clintons' treatment of Obama to the way they tried to discredit Paula Jones. "In the last couple of days, Barack Obama has found out what Paula Jones must have felt like after being worked over by the Clinton organization," von Hoffman wrote. "Ms. Clinton goes slap, slap, slap across his face as husband Bill lets the Illinois Senator [sic] have it below the belt."

Paul Waldman, a columnist for The American Prospect , a liberal magazine, says that the Democrats' cheering of some of Clinton's dirtier tactics during the 1990s may have been unwise. "The question this raises is how we really feel about ethically questionable campaign tactics," said Waldman. "The fact is that we're very quick to forgive a politician we support for hitting below the belt, if the belt in question is around the waist of another politician we dislike."

Uh-oh, more skeletons from the closet:

quote:

Dear Sen. Obama:

Today I saw an e-mail sent out to your donors in which your wife states, "What we didn't expect, at least not from our fellow Democrats, are the win-at-all cost tactics we've seen recently. We didn't expect misleading accusations that willfully distort Barack's record."

Don't be naïve: When those "fellow Democrats" include Hillary Clinton, be ready to expect anything.

I know. As detailed in my recent book "Target," I've been the recipient of just about every dirty trick Hillary has in her arsenal. And if you actually think that Hillary's coming at you hard now, well, just wait.

Already, Hillary's media minions have been working overtime to link you with political fixer Tony Rezko, while conveniently forgetting she ever met him. (Try searching "Obama Tony," and see what you get.) And even though she was forced to pull ads in South Carolina quoting you as calling Republicans "the party of ideas" and suggesting you think those ideas superior to Democratic ones, you may rest assured that more negative advertising calling you a liar and worse is on the way.

See, because I had the nerve to tell the unvarnished truth about Bill Clinton the sexual predator, I've been called a liar by more so-called "journalists" than I can count. My every utterance has been parsed and examined, just like yours will be.

My advice: Turn the tables on Hillary and her media minions by telling the truth – about yourself and about her.

You'll also find that Hillary's operatives excel at accessing what you might think are private records, such as tax files – not just yours, but your friends and associates. Don't think for a minute that she wouldn't stoop so low! The Clintons have a long history of trying to intimidate opponents by first invading their personal records, and then releasing the information via their media enablers, naturally spun to reflect poorly on the person being attacked while Bill and Hillary stand there with "Who, me?" looks on their faces.

My advice: Make sure that your personal and tax records are secure. Also, get a shredder, and use it!

Then, of course, there's the Clintons' secret private-investigator army, which no doubt has already been deployed to counter the threat that you present. I know that army's tactics well. They have threatened my children and my friend's children. They've threatened and killed my pets. They've vandalized my car. They've entered my home and stolen my book manuscript. They've destroyed my peace of mind ... just so Hillary Clinton can sleep easier.

My advice: Never assume that your home is a safe haven.

Hillary claims that her experience makes her the best qualified presidential candidate. Well, I've had plenty of experience with Hillary and Bill Clinton's qualifications as the nation's most ruthless political tag team, and I can't imagine a worse scenario for the nation – or the world – than letting these two loose in the White House again. Which leads to my last piece of advice: Don't let Hillary define you. Instead, define her as the worst possible choice to lead this nation. That's one way to ensure voters that you, at least, are telling the truth.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Willey

To me Spoonbills article seems to indicate that my perceptions are valid.  The Hilldog is a cut throat driven person who will do anything to achieve and Obama is the likable person he appears to be.  How else do you explain so many notable long-time Clinton acquaintances turning on them?

Onetime Obama Donor Is Ordered Jailed
By CATRIN EINHORN and CHRISTOPHER DREW
Published: January 29, 2008
CHICAGO — A federal judge here revoked bond on Monday and ordered Antoin Rezko, once a major fund-raiser for Senator Barack Obama, held in jail after prosecutors accused him of lying to the court about his finances.
Mr. Rezko, who had been free on bond after being indicted in 2006 on charges of business fraud and influence peddling, was arrested early Monday at his home in Wilmette, a North Shore suburb.

A real-estate developer who was once one of the most powerful men in Illinois, Mr. Rezko had told the court he was nearly broke. But federal prosecutors said Monday that he benefited from $3.7 million in wire transfers from Lebanon and Luxembourg last year. They said his failure to tell the judge about the money suggested he could be a flight risk.

The disclosures about Mr. Rezko could fuel efforts by Mr. Obama's opponents in the presidential race to make Mr. Obama's relationship with him an issue.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Democrat of New York, has raised questions about Mr. Obama's judgment in dealing with Mr. Rezko, who raised at least $150,000 for him from 1996 to 2004 in races for the Illinois State Senate and the United States Senate. Mr. Obama, Democrat of Illinois, has conceded that a land deal he once had with Mr. Rezko was "boneheaded."

Mr. Rezko, a Syrian-American, dropped his head on Monday and rocked slightly as Judge Amy J. St. Eve of Federal District Court here said she was placing him in the custody of United States marshals. Judge St. Eve said she would hold another hearing on the case on Tuesday. But, she said, "had I known then what I know now, the bond would have looked different."

In documents unsealed in court on Monday, prosecutors said the $3.7 million had been transferred by a company owned by Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi billionaire who was convicted several years ago in France on fraud charges and who is a real estate partner of Mr. Rezko. The money went to an account at a Chicago law firm, Freeborn & Peters, that represents Mr. Rezko in business ventures, prosecutors said.

They said much of the money was then transferred to accounts controlled by Mr. Rezko, his family and associates. He used the money to cover living expenses and pay his lawyers, as well as for other debts, they said.

Prosecutors said Mr. Rezko had also transferred money to five relatives and business associates who had posted property to support his bond, undermining the bond's effectiveness at reducing his risk of flight.

In one instance laid out by prosecutors, $225,000 of the money went to a couple who had posted almost the same amount in equity from two properties to help secure Mr. Rezko's release.

"It's clear it's been a shell game from the beginning," said Reid J. Schar, an assistant United States attorney prosecuting the case. Mr. Rezko, Mr. Schar said, "simply cannot be trusted."

A lawyer representing Mr. Rezko on criminal questions, Joseph J. Duffy, said that he did not think his client had violated the conditions of his release, but that if there was confusion, "the fault lies with me and not Mr. Rezko."

Mr. Duffy said that the money from overseas was a loan and that he did not understand it had to be reported to the court. He emphasized that much of the money went to pay Mr. Rezko's legal bills.

The court documents unsealed on Monday said that at one point, Mr. Rezko asked Illinois government officials to ask the State Department to allow Mr. Auchi, who now lives in Britain, to visit the United States. The officials were not identified.

Former Rezko associates have said Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich of Illinois attended a dinner Mr. Rezko held in Chicago for Mr. Auchi. Mr. Blagojevich's office did not return calls for comment on Monday.

Bill Burton, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, said Mr. Rezko had never asked Mr. Obama for help on the visa request.

Catrin Einhorn reported from Chicago, and Christopher Drew from New York.

Say what? Rezko did more for George W. Bush than for any particular Democrat? $3.8 million in one Bush fundraiser? Yep, if we can believe the Tribune or this 2006 Chicago Sun-Times assertion:

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/clout_st/2008/01/blagojevich-tri.html

Rezko also works both sides of the political fence. He co-chaired a megamillion-dollar fund-raiser for President Bush in 2003 and raised funds for former [Republican] Gov. Jim Edgar.
