Dixie Reppe, interim executive director of Tulsa Opera and past president of Opera Guild International, will review "The Toughest Show on Earth: My Rise and Reign at the Metropolitan Opera" by Joseph Volpe with Charles Michener. Volpe started as an apprentice carpenter at the Metropolitan Opera and worked his way up to become general manager, a position he held for 16 years. He writes of the difficulty of dealing with the inside politics of such a large institution as well as handling the egos of the stars.
Monday, March 10th, from 12:10 pm until 12:50 pm. This event will be held at Central Library Aaronson Auditorium.
