I drove through this construction today, and it appears that they are just repaving and redoing the sidewalks. Are they not putting in a center turn lane?? Unless they are going to expand it to the west and add the center lane, they are going to end up with the same old outdated narrow road without a left turn lane, only with a new surface. It would be shameful to spend that much money and have no improvement to the traffic flow or safety on that stretch of road, and it is heavily traveled.

Last month I drove up Sheridan from 41st to Admiral on a Saturday afternoon, and I came to the conclusion that Sheridan was the slowest north to south corridor in town.  It doesn't move traffic for sh*t.

The wonderful scenery more than makes up for that!  [}:)]

Add left turn lanes?? Tulsa street planners have no idea what those are.

I drive Sheridan everyday. For over a year, every single left turn light between 31st and Admiral have been broken. The light turns green regardless of people in the lane. It stays on for the full cycle, thus holding up traffic. If you notice, there are a lot of left turn lights that function improperly all over Tulsa. I have reported it several times over the past year and they haven't fixed any of them. I just don't understand why they can't take care of this annoyance.

By left turn lanes, I meant the *suicide* lanes they put in the middle of most of the heavily-traveled roads they redo, not those at the major intersections.

Nothing new about that. Indianapolis is bad for that. They have traffic lights with left turn arrows when there's no cars turning, in fact the traffic lights in Indianapolis are the pitts, sometimes the green on the main drag is shorter than the green on a side street. it's bad.[xx(]
