Need recommendations for weekend

This week my mother is coming in from Seattle. I want to show her a good time and show off Tulsa. I was thinking of taking her to Lolas Friday but Im not sure of two good, fun, and cool restaurants to take her to on Saturday and Sunday night. Im not interested in any chain restaurants or ones in the burbs. So any recommendations would be great.

Also I was wondering if anyone knew of any good events going on this weekend. I was thinking o possibily going to the Mozart festival because she likes classical music but was wondering if it is any good. Anyways thanks for any help and Im looking forward to showing off Tulsa so maybe I can convince her to move here.

This weekend is Black Gold days in Glenpool. They got turtle racing.

They all look alike until you paint racing stripes and numbers on them.

i'd go to palace cafe, keo, dalesandros, or garlic rose (none are open sunday night)... the brasserie is open sunday nights... el guapo is an option on sunday as well...

If she likes art and beautiful places, of course take her to Villa Philbrook. Its a nice thing to do early on a Sat or Sun morning. Check out the traveling exhibits area, then immediately check out the gardens out back, make the loop and see the new ones to the side as well. You want to see the gardens early while its cool because it gets hot quick out there. Then go back in and see the rest of the old home/museum. Then do brunch at Philbrook or Utica square. Or do breakfast at Utica Square, then see Philbrook. Its a nice way to spend the first part of a day and show off the "upscale" old part of Tulsa.

Tonight (Saturday) there are two festivals downtown.  Maybe one of these would appeal to you and your mom?

both of these events will have booze.  jazzfest has food.

i've been to garlic rose for sunday brunch and enjoyed it.  at the time, i thought it would be a good place to take my MIL - especially now that the patio courtyard is open.

Woot, a friend was in town.  We did sailing on Friday, Saturday we went swimming, Saturday night we went out to dinner, then Phantom at the PAC, after words we stopped by Jazzfest before heading over to McNelly's for some Pub Ale.

Downtown was hoppin'!
