On my way home from OKC tonight I decided to stop at the McDonald's for a bite to eat.

Big mistake.  It took 15 minutes to go through the drive through and i was only the 5th car in line.  Who ever was managing wasn't managing.  the girl at the window could not get any order right, I observed her handing stuff out and then taking it back to every car in front of me.  (I would of left but there were cars in front of me and cars in back of me).

Then when I finally got my food, the fries were cold and the sandwich was closer to cool than to barely warm.

Next time I will back a sandwich for the trip so I do not have to stop off for over paid, bad service, and the irritation.
It's hard being a Diamond in a rhinestone world.

Take 66 instead of the turnpike if you want decent food.

Breadburner

Why would even think your going to get something good to eat at a fast food restraunt on the turnpike....

I also consider 15 minutes to be about average for a drive-through.

I have found each car in a drive thru lane equals 3 people inside the restaurant. I like Whataburger myself. I avoid McDonalds. Wendys use-to have good fries but a few years they changed something and have  bad tasting fries now. I can't eat them, I also don't like BurgerKings fries.[xx(]

Whataburger definitely has the slowest drive thru around.

They're all pretty slow when the after bar rush arrives.

QuikTrip needs to give them all lessons in efficiency and urgency.

The longest drive thru is Webers on Peoria, but I would wait as long as it takes for one of those paper wrapped parcels of greasy goodness! (or just call ahead)
If I must go to McDonalds, 71/Yale is the best in town...they make really pretty ice cream cones and the food doesn't look like it's been thrown around too much.
Wendy's has cold buns...really.
