I think it is odd that cannon fodder on this forum gets his own day.

Mine was good. Gave a speech at a church, took the younguns fishing, watched the golf tournament and the wife made ribs, fried okra and watermelon for dinner.

Even the kids stopped fighting most the day.
Power is nothing till you use it.

My kids thought Father's day was a day for extra fighting.

Good speech by Obama on the importance of fatherhood:

I got my boy back from the grandparents for father's day.  Good times had by all in KC.

For those of you out there that still have surviving fathers, be greatfull.

My father died back in Jan. 1971, when I was just 13.  He was a wonderful man, and I can't help think of all the missed opportunities and discussions I would have had over the years with him.  I have 1,000's of questions I would like to ask him, family history, his military service in the US Army WWII, etc., but will never have the chance.

Mend rifts & fences, minimize petty family problems that make no difference in the long run, and keep family ties intact, if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity.  Both of my parents were dead before I graduated high school in 1975, in fact all my close relatives, parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles were all gone by that time.  Cherish what you have, for it can be gone in an instant.
