Vacated Med-X; Vacated Delta Cafe

Whoever does finally take the old Delta location I hope they open the doors onto Peoria instead of the side street.  It is a pretty large space and I would venture a guess that the rent being asked is high, probably too high for most any locals.  Will a chain restaurant work on Brookside.  The Wendy's didn't work neither did the Fudruckers.  Although the pee wees seems to have a steady traffic flow, I don't understand why, the food there is awful, it all tastes the same to me.  Personally I would love to see a Florida style fish house in that location.  Something like The Shrimp Basket  Lots of good seafood baskets that aren't so expensive.

A chain will work at that location, (see Charleston's), but long-term survival will require a quality product.  I don't see RT's fitting the bill (which doesn't mean they won't try).  

Personally, I would like to see the roof top converted to provide patio seating, an outdoor bar, etc.  This may be cost prohibitive given the likely rent, but I can still dream.

I still think an upscale sports bar/restaurant like Fox & Hound would be ideal.

I really wish a good gym would go in on Brookside.  That would be a great location.

The empty Hollywood Video at 39th could work as well.

The single worst restaurant meal I ever purchased was at the Brookside Delta Cafe location.  It was terrible.
