My wife and I are going to be passing through the area this evening and were thinking about grabbing something for dinner in Chouteau. Aren't there some good Amish diners or something there in Chouteau? If not Amish, what's good in Chouteau, anything?

Thanks.

The Dutch Pantry in Chouteau has a buffet that is second to none. It gets pretty busy at dinner time but the wait is worth it.

I've never heard of it either. And I gotta confess, when I read the title "Dining in Choteau?" I chuckled a bit. Just couldn't imagine....

We'll probably hit the Dutch Pantry and report back here on how it is.

The Dutch Pantry has the largest Chicken Breasts I've ever seen [:)]
Very good food there

Forum Friends,

We live in Pryor. The Dutch Pantry is reasonable, quaint, homestyle, sultry in the summer.

I wouldn't recommend taking guests.

But pick up some great breads and pies at the Amish Cheese House, nearby.

Mike

Dutch Pantry is one of my favorite places to take out of towners.  Some of my guests, that if they hit town on Saturday, insist that we take the drive for the fried chicken and cobblers/pies with the homemade ice cream option!  I usually cruise them down OLD 33 on the way then 412 it back when we're happy, stuffed and driving with belts loosened.

Try to hit the Cheese House & Nettie Anns before the Dutch Pantry...because more food isn't foremost on ones mind after that wonderful buffet!

Well we hit the Dutch Pantry and it was good! I like the comfortable feeling there. Almost like you are sitting in your grandma's dining room having a good homecooked meal or something.

Anyhow, we were pressed for time and didn't hit the Cheese House or anything else. We'll be going back so we'll try to hit those places next time around.

Thanks for the suggestions.
