For homeowners with flat or very low-slope roofs, American Eagle Roofing is doing about 1/2 dozen houses in my neighborhood right now.  I think the quality of their work must be good, as they have done many homes in my neighborhood over the past 5-6 years, although I have not personally used them.

I think finding any roofer to do a job in the Tulsa are right now would be tough.  So much demand all at once.  I lucked out and was able to repair the minor damage to my roof from the Dec. ice storm myself.  A big limb blew down and crashed onto my roof today from all the wind.  Hopefully, it sounded worse than it was.

Thanks Steve.

Actually, Bill, from Apple Roofing came out last week and took a look at the roof to give us an estimate. He said our roof looked to be in good shape overall and really didn't need replacing. He spotted right away where our leaks (2 spots) were coming from and fixed them (silicone something or other) for $45. We've had two really good rain storms since then and have had no leaks whatsoever. So we're happy for now and we'll likely venture down the new roof route in a few more years.

I live in Lortondale, where all our homes have flat or very low slope roofs.  I had my home completely reroofed in 1989 with a "single ply" rubber roof membrane (to replace the old tar/gravel roof) and it has held up remarkably well for the past 19 years.

I had 4 holes punched in my outer roof membrane from falling tree limbs during the Dec. ice storm.  I bought a gallon of liquid rubber "stop leak" roof patch at Lowes, and repaired the holes in January.  I have had no water leaks or concerns since.  My 19-year old roof is still in surprisingly good condition, and should last at least 5-10 more years, baring some major weather catastrophe.  The rubber membrane remains pliable over the years, deflects hail stones, and has shed water well.

I called C&S last week. They were supposed to be out on Tuesday.  However, they no call no showed.   To me, that is a major sign of being unreliable.  Needless to say, they lost my business.

You know, we had scheduled for them to come out one day and I wasn't home but he said I didn't need to be. Anyway, a few days later we had the quote from them in the mail. So you may end up w/ quote in your mailbox in a day or two. Unless of course you were there all day and didn't even see 'em come.

Anyhow, that's how it worked for us..

That's good to know, but I was here the majority of the day and didn't see them.  But I was gone for a couple a  hours.  Nothing in the mail yet, but I will keep an eye out for it.

Anyway, did you end up using them?

I am the same way.  If you no call no show on me when I am willing to shell out the money, you will not get any of my business what so ever.  On that note, I posted on the 9th that I had called A best roofing and Superior and both told me it would take a few days for them to come out.  It is now the 24th and I have yet to receive a call, or a quote on my door or mailbox.  Looks like I will be calling some others also!

Nope, I used Bill from Apple Roofing. He's a 1 man show but a great guy and he fixed our problem right away instead of trying to sell us a new roof. I think it was like $40 or something to fix our two leaks. He came highly recommended from a friend of mine. He came out the day he said he would and fixed it during the same visit.

He did give me a quote on a new roof for reference. Also I think it was cheaper than C&S anyhow.

I called C&S on Thursday to advise them that since they no called- no showed me, not get on my roof if they still had me on their list.  Charlotte at C&S was very apologetic and I ended the call.  I received the following respectable, very personalized letter in the mail today:

"I am so sorry about not getting in touch with you this past Tuesday. When I spoke with Shawn concerning the appointments I had made for him on this past week, I was not aware that he had made appointments in his schedule also. It wasn't until after I had schedule that we realized he was over-booked. I made the phone calls on Monday to let our clients know our delima, but apparently your page of phone messages was stuck to the prior page.  There were four people that were over-looked.  I am so sorry that I did not call, but appreciate your frustration, because it allowed me to regroup and find out where we missed it.  Our primary goal is not to deliver a roofing product or even a quality job, which we do every time, but the primary goal of our business is to develop relationships so we can meet the on-going needs of our clients.  I apologize for not taking better care of you than what I did. In all honesty, we have so many previous clients calling with leaks due to the hailstorm-we typically don't have any, and needing new estimates.  I am experiencing 'growing pains', and your phone call was a very good reminder for me to do a better job.  Thanks so much for taking time to call me today.  Please accept my most humble apology, and I will take you off our list of contacts.

Sincerely,
Charlotte"

This letter went a long way mending my opinion of them.  I think I will call them again next week and give them another shot.

In the past I have used Suttle Roofing, Dee Suttle always seemed upfront and honest and all the referrals I sent him to were also pleased with the work and price.

I used superior roofing to repair/reseal the roof for a comercial rental property i owned.

When I decided to sale, I was literally on the other side of the planet, and rather than waiting 6 weeks until I was back in the USA to provide proof of the repairs and get the building on the market, they provided proof of the repair AND waranty to my realtor, and I was able to do the closing the next time I was in the USA!

What a relief to do business with an honest company! :)

true story! :)
