OK, I was wrong.  It is the Eagles coming back apparently...sorry about that.  I'm posting this to say sorry about the Journey thing.  Still not sure why it's a big deal that the Eagles are coming back though.

It annoyed me with the Wii. Luckily, as I have both technology and free time at my disposal, I had no trouble digging up a few for an hour or two of my time plus a couple gallons of gas.

Why did the Wii 'scalpers' annoy me? Two reasons. One, driving the price up to where folks without an excess of money couldn't buy them unless they got really, really, really lucky, and two, making me spend more time than really necessary to get ahold of the things for me and my Wii-desiring friends.

I guess I could have made boatloads of money on the things if I had wanted to, but I preferred to make a kid's birthday whose parents had told him that if he saved up half the money for a Wii, they'd pitch in the other half. Nice folks. I got a hug and profuse thanks out of the deal. Better than $100, as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, it's that attitude that'll have me slaving away for myself or the man until the day I die.

Maybe someday I'll understand the urge to profiteer. I guess it would help pay off the credit card debt. Not that I mind the credit card companies loaning me money for nothing in return and giving me free stuff to use their card.

I agree 100%, money cannot buy that hug and smile.
I have given away many a ticket to a sporting event and all I needed was a "Thanks, really you do not want any money?"

Not saying what Michael did was wrong or illegal, just not what I would have done.

Charging a service fee for performance of a service in a retail situation, other than in an declared national emergency, is simply doing business.  No one is forced to buy tickets and pay the higher service fees from one competitive ticket outlet to another. Nor are there sanctions requiring a set limit of the service charge fee on any sale.

Because there are more than one box office/ticket outlet that seems to open the door to competition and allow most anyone to be a ticket seller.   Seems to be the same type of transaction, only with a higher service fee when buying tickets from other sources.

Carson Attractions, Reasors, Homeland and other walkup and online ticket outlets tyically charge a service fee for the sale of an event ticket.

In definition event ticket sales are nothing more than the face value of the ticket plus an additional service fee.
