Vote for the ones from the party of the donkey, not the party of the elephant.

When Jesus was born, there was a donkey in the manger. The elephants were kept far away.

So as to not start another thread, a quick question. Can somebody explain to me the straight party voting thing? My first reaction is to leave all these blank (there is one for every category) and select the individuals. But, I've read that certain states have weird rules in regards to straight party voting (like this: http://www.snopes.com/politics/ballot/straightticket.asp). I searched both the Tulsa County Election board website and the Oklahoma State Election Board website and found no definition on the straight party voting.

So is it safe to say the best thing to do would be to leave all the straight party arrows empty and just vote for the individuals?

Ditto, The Straight Party Voting option is confusing to me.  I want to cast straight party votes where applicable but I've never seen this and it makes me nervous.  Can a Democrat out there tell me if it is safe to choose the straight party voting option?

You won't find a donkey on the ballot in Oklahoma, it's the rooster here.

Trust me HT, it's safe, go on and do it.  I would never mislead you to vote for Republicans.

Personally, I consider party-line voting a waste of my voting priveleges.  I'm not enough of a lock-stepper to cast a vote for an opportunist like Jay Matlock just because he's the GOP candidate in my district.

I have to agree.  I would rather have someone vote individually for everyone in the same party than check the straight party line mark. The results are the same but the party line vote shows a lack of thought about the candidates.  Uh, where do I put my "X"?

I am still undecided on the Full Term Corporation Commissioner. Jeff Cloud or Charles Gray?
