Ok everyone, I have been put in charge of planning my family reunion in a few months, and need restaurant advice from the people I trust for their knowledge and unabashedly outspoken opinions- the TulsaNow forum members!

I know this topic has been posted numerous times in the past, but I will try to narrow it down and be as concise as possible to help with the process. My family will be traveling from both coasts, and almost all attending are familiar with Tulsa, but most haven't been there in over a decade. I am bringing my S.O. who has never been to Tulsa (or met my wacky Okie relatives!) so I really want some places that are sure to impress.

The spots I am already familiar with, and enjoyed are:

Palace Cafe
Tucci's
Wild Fork
Lola's
Chalkboard

The others I know are either gone or I didn't care for them very much. There are two dinners that need to be planned, as well as a lunch so I guess I will narrow it down to BBQ suggestions (for the lunch- doesn't have to be fancy just really good) a steak house, and a Mexican place, with alternatives being maybe awesome Italian, seafood, or something uniquely Tulsa. The size of the group will vary, but the largest group will be about 12 people, all adults, with wildly varying tastes.

I think the biggest criteria is atmosphere, combined with great food. I am not interested in how expensive it is, as long as it is fantastic and memorable. I think we are staying at the Doubletree Warren Place so location could be anywhere in the metro.

Some suggestions already thrown at me have been:

Mahogany
Mcgill's
Flemings
Bodeans

Thanks!

I would say i memorable and atmosphere are important, then Mcgill's is pretty run of the mill IMO. The food is ok, the setting is nice enough, but its nothing to write home about.
Thank you,

I will second Garlic Rose, its by the same people that do The ChalkBoard

Don't forget the "Domestic and Imported Cheese Course."

I would visit the Brookside location, though Fifty Five Degrees is now Garlic Rose II, but not tried that location yet.
Thank you,

Thank you for those- the Brasserie looks really good. So is the Mcgills off 61st better than the one near Utica Sq? I'm trying to decide between Mahogany, Flemings and Mcgills and have never been to any of them.

Flemming's=over rated
Mahogany=over priced
McGill's= real close to both and not stupid priced.
Perhaps the one on 21 is a bit more "up scale" feeling...61 seems to be more regular "restaruant-y"
