I drove by the other day and saw that they had torn down the gas station and were tearing down the rundown old Patrick Henry apartments, does anyone know what is going on here?  Is it all part of the highway expansion or are they going to put something there?  I am sure this has been going on for a while and maybe there has even been a thread about this, but I had not driven that way in a while!

Are they taking down either Trade Winds?

The Patrick Henry seems out of the way for it to be an ODOT highway demolition.  My guess is they plan to put something nicer there once all the infrastructure work of the highway widening makes the land worth more.

The plans show that the new road will encroach a little on those apartment's property, so it was probably enough to justify demolishing them. No complaints here.

I was thinking something along those lines, like an extra lane of Harvard shaving off some of their property.

I'd be willing to bet Harvard gets a couple of extra lanes (or more) with all the construction.  Let's hope.  51st & Harvard has sucked for as long as I can remember.

They had to demolish the apartments due to a drainage system that will be put there

I thought the drainage system was only from Yorktown to the river? Unless there are multiple drainage projects, I believe this is the case.
