I was fine with "Oklahoma is OK."

Short and to the point.

I first saw that on an license in 71 shortly before the family moved here from PA.  I thought it was corney.  Was it in reference to the 2 letter postal abbreviations?  Was it saying the state was just OK, not great, not terrible, just OK?  Something else?

Short yes. Point, which one?

the 70s were a bad time for slogans.  Arkansas had a slogan "Land of Opportunity" on their plates.  Ponder on that.....well I guess Bill C took it to heart.

"Oklahoma is OK" was awful.

This new tag is 1,000 times better.

+1.

Sure it was clever, but the essentially message was "Oklahoma is mediocre."  Woohoo!  I want to visit/move/start a business there.  Not that Native America sells the place entirely, but certainly says something about the state other than we are mediocre.

At the time, I believe folks related to the musical 'Oklahoma" where the last line is "Oklahoma...OK!" thus Oklahoma is OK. But it wasn't OK even then!

Why do we have a picture of a Samurai Warrior on our liscense plates?

That's the statue in front of Gilcrease, FYI

So think of it this way. Tulsa won something for once.

I personally like the new tags, if anything, we were glad to get rid of our old tag that started with 666.  I do admit they look somewhat cheap, but many states are going to the ones like OK has now.  So it isn't just OK being cheap.
"You cant solve Stupid."
"I don't do sorry, sorry is for criminals and screw ups."

I noticed yesterday that on one plate, in the lower right, the Osage shield is still present.  But I don't see it on the official version from the State online.  So perhaps someone just put a sticker on there.

So, ahh, never mind then.
