Drove by 11th and Lewis this afternoon and was pleasantly suprised to see a renovation of sorts happening to the old Chris Nikel dealership. I saw some big Airgas tanks in the back of the building and what looked to be like large red exhaust stacks on the roof. Anyone know whats going in there?

Wondered the same thing, have no insight.

Noticed the new paint and some shielded lighting, but beyond that...

Red Castle Gun Club supposedly was building a range near there, but they wouldn't need airgas tanks or I would assume furnaces or autoclaves.  Just guessing, but it's likely related to aircraft manufacturing with that sort of equipment.

That's for the "extreme" course.

Makes sense. More blue-collar colleges.

Chris Nikel couldn't possibly be expanding in this economy. Who is buying new cars right now? I'll bet their sales numbers vs. 1-2 years ago are horrifying to look at.

Chris Nikel moved to BA years ago, these are just the buildings that used to house the dealership.

I believe Tulsa Welding School is considered one of the best in the nation. Almost on par with going to wyotech for automotive or embry-riddle for aviation. There are likely people who once went to TWS earning 6 figures in a down economy. Not bad for "blue-collar"

Also, I don't know anyone who has resisted buying a car for economic reasons.

Look at more expensive cars.
