Preschools?

I'm looking at homes in the Broken Arrow/Jenks area and will be moving in August/early September. I'm trying to find a good preschool for both of my girls.  I have been told that the public schools (for my 4-yr old) will all most likely be on a waitlist by the time that we get there, so that probably won't be an option.  Would love some options for what private schools in that are would be great for a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old.  Thanks!!

Asbury United Methodist Church - on Mingo by 71st street -- I have a friend who lives in Broken Arrow who sends her daughter there. 

Contact Jenks anyway and see what they have to offer.  I know that most of the students are already enrolled, but you never know!

My kids go to ABC Preschool at Fellowship Bible Church, it's only two days a week, but they are wonderful and the kids love it.  Its on 91st between Sheridan and Yale.

Undercroft Montessori 38th & Hudson situated between Bishop Kelly High School and Waite Phillips Elementary.  My daughters went there, great school and it's hard to beat the Montessori program.  I believe they go through the 8th grade now.  Both of mine did pre-school there and the older one stayed through 4th grade, the younger one through Kindergarten.

Haven't had kids around for a few years, but in BA on 91st between Aspen and Elm is a Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club that was very good at one time (I had possession of grandkids.)  They might be worth talking to.  At the time, they were also the most reasonably priced.  When the kids get to school age, they have transportation.

Thanks for all the options everyone!  I'm still looking through all of them, but I've seen some that really look promising! I'm going to be house-hunting in just a couple of weeks, so it's nice to have lots of options in different areas since I'm not sure exactly where we will end up just yet

Yes, they now go through 8th grade.

Simple economics and logistics, basically.

Both my girls were in competitive gymnastics at the time at TWOG and we lived near 51st & Sheridan.  They tried out for Jenks and made the team there which meant more driving.  We conisdered what we were paying for tuition for two kids and on our mortgage and started thinking about moving out to the Jenks district.  We were able to basically improve our cash flow situation and still have a very nice upgrade in housing, as it worked out.

I was a bit worried about the transition from Montessori to the more structured environment of a public school system but it worked out great.  Our daughters missed UM at first but eventually got into the swing of things.  The older one prospered at Jenks and is now 1/2 way through her degree at OU and is doing well there. The younger one will be a Sr. this fall and is an A student as well.  I feel like UM made them much more self-reliant and self-motivated.  We've never had trouble with them studying or making good grades.

We never had a problem with Undercroft, the parents were very involved and there's several friendships I'll have for the rest of my life with other former UM parents.   That was one parallel I did like between Jenks and UM was the commitment and involvement of the parents.

That's reassuring to know that your daughters transitioned from Montessori to the public school system.  That was one of my concerns when I was looking at Montessori schools for my child.  It appears that Montessori schools are having a hard time keeping kids enrolled past the preschool level since parents are pulling them out to go to the public school system. And I don't blame them -- Montessori schools are expensive.  I wish we had public Montessories here.
