Apopros to the thread drift in the discussion about schools, has anyone else gotten to the point where if someone says they're going to send an email, you expect it to be in your inbox in a minute or two at most and start checking your spam filters if it isn't?

I always forget to check the filters, I assume they've blown me off and I send them a nastygram.

Email at home is pretty quick.

Email at work has so many security measures that it sometimes takes several minutes to email someone a few cubes away.

I know that pain...we email from work, our email servers are in Pennsylvania, then get filtered in SoCal.  There have been cases where my co-workers won't see an email I've sent for nearly five minutes..LOL.
