I actually found the DFW comments pretty funny overall.
Change never happened because people were happy with the status quo.

Looks like this effort helped a little bit.  American still is going to cut up to 2,100 jobs in Tulsa, but the Ft. Worth base is closing completely.

Still a major hit, though.  We're not a big community, and 2k+ jobs is a big deal.

EDIT:  Especially 2k+ good paying union jobs.

Does that imply that only union jobs will be eliminated?

Engineering and other non-union jobs will all be retained?

The emphasis on my statement above should be on the "good paying" and not necessarily on the "union" part, though often they go hand in hand in these situations.

It's a tragedy regardless of how many or who loses their jobs.  If they canned all the janitors and left everybody else standing it would still be a shame.
