"I would love to bring in a neighborhood grocer — a Reasor's, a Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's," says Neal Bhow

More than 30 apartments are planned above the retail space in the Hartford Building, with another 60 to be constructed atop the new mixed-use development along Greenwood Avenue.

Seems like it will be a great development for that area. If all the recently announced projects downtown come to fruition we are going to have another construction boom.

A lot of concepts, speculation and hopes in these renderings and plans.  Sounds great if they put it all together and pull it off.

TDA will just have to vet them for months to see if they are worthy

Other than Reasor's, what if any other local options exist for a downtown grocery store?

Is the store that has already in the works a full line grocery or is it one of those upscale urban market/ convenience types?

I also heard somewhere that there used to be a downtown grocery store some years ago. On or near Denver?

If all of these proposals happen there will be a straight line of development in empty lots from Archer to 3rd and Greenwood to Hartford

This reminds me of the type of developments that happened a couple years ago on the north side of downtown OKC, what is known there as "midtown".  It took several of these smaller projects all finishing around the same time to build a critical mass and pave the way for larger residential projects.  I think we are seeing the same evolution in this area which is awesome.  I like that the commercial is still most centered along Elgin and 1st, with a secondary concentration along Greenwood.
