This guy is no longer innocent because he has been proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of his peers, therefore regardless of what ever appeal he is filing he should be kept behind bars.

A man who who faces a five-year prison term for molesting a teenage girl can be released on $1 million bond while he appeals the conviction.

That judicial decision drew strong criticism from the girl's father.

Raymond Leon Newman "was convicted by a jury of 12, and the judge just wasted their time," the father said.

Allowing Newman to remain free during the appeal of his trial outcome is an injustice, "no question about it," the father said Thursday.

Defense attorney Creekmore Wallace said he thinks Newman, 55, will post the $1 million bond allowed by Tulsa County Associate District Judge Dana Kuehn.

What really pisses me off about this was that Ms. Kuehn's successful campaign was largely the result of her predecessor doing basically the same thing.

I would have thought she got the message that Tulsan's and others in this district don't cotton to the idea of letting child predators running loose.

Man, do I ever feel mis-led.

Well, I hope he skips out on his bond and then gets beat to death by the victims family.  Thus, the county gets $1mil and the family gets free therapy.

I understand this is not a laughing matter, but everyone would probably be better off under that scenario.  Even in prison, child molesters do not fair well and everyone knows who they are.
