Tulsa area paintings

Yes I love his Tulsa work. He was at Mayfest this last year and I have seen his work at Lolas. I would love to have one of his paintings in my living room. Every time he has a painting available that I really like, I am broke lol. I had thought of doing paintings of Tulsa like that but he beat me to it. He does a better job at that wonderful impressionist style than I probably would anyway. Course I have never really tried, but I couldn't do it now because I would be seen as copying his idea lol.  Beautiful colors and feel. Streetscapes and buildings I find are very difficult to do. He has good technique. I will definitely try to buy one of his paintings though. I think we are seeing some work that will be worth quite a bit in time. Get it now while you still can and its affordable.

Titled "Life in the Big City."  Ouch, a little commentary there I suppose.

His paintings are really wonderful though.  The paintings in the rain seem to draw me for some reason.  Though I really don't see one that I am inspired to purchase... this one is my favorite:

and I almost purchased "Cherry Street Night," my wife and I decided to pass.  Would have if there were two people under the umbrella.  Not sure why, but that was our train of thought.

Upon further reflection, the absence of any vitality in the pictures makes them calming.  However, I think that is what makes them unsuitable for my walls.  I generally try to get artwork that you can look at a week later and say "oh yeah, I never noticed that."  Or something that has a story behind it (paid $10 to a bum for a painting he did with his fingers on a back of a cardboard box... then had it matted and framed.  The full story and the associated trip is probably why I enjoy the artwork).  And I have a few POS that just match my decor.

Not that anyone cares, but there is my 2 cents on the matter.

I love his work too.  His originals are at M.A. Doran Gallery on Brookside.  You can also contact him directly for giclee reproductions (printing on canvas so it looks more like a painting instead of a print).  He and his wife are great people- so nice and helpful.
