Prettier highways and overpasses is definitely something I wish we had more of in Oklahoma... I was in Phoenix earlier this year and they have some really awesome 20' high highway barriers, nice low maintenance landscaping consisting mostly of colored gravel in shapes, etc... But then again, people in Phoenix are looking at that **** at least 2 hours a day, so they would have plenty of time to notice and complain if it was ugly.

I believe the new Crosstown will feature a similar sunken highway retaining wall with sort of Native American motifs. The I-35 overpass thing in Moore that screwed southside commutes for a year or two is painted a nice tan color and has the outline of the state imprinted into the corners... It should be a design standard for newly constructed overpasses anywhere in the state, IMO.

It must be nice to have your state actually fund highways in your city, but we wouldn't know what that is like here in Tulsa, now would we?

Well then, don't talk about how crappy our highways and overpasses are.  'Nuf said.
